ControlTech Formidable AL Handlebars ?

Hi All,

Anyone use either of the Formidable handlebars made by ControlTech ?

http://www.controltechbikes.com/sec-8/index.aspx

Looks like the CL model has the traditional shaped drop while the other has the ergo shaped drop ?
I'm interested primarily because of the flattened area where your hands would rest when you're riding on the hoods. I am definitely a hoods rider....

Any feedback one way or another ?

Thanks,

J.

I have a set.. I dont really like them. Theyre odd shaped and a bit difficult to set up. I'm going to be removing them for a set of FSA Wing bars in the near future.

I believe they're the stock handlebar on some cannondales (don't know if it's CL though...... Don't think so.....). So if there's some cannondale dealers - you may be able to check them out for yourself...

You're bummin me...;)
Can you be a little more specific as to what you found uncomfortable ?

Where are your hands typically on the handlebars ?

The bend for the drops is what's odd. For me its been difficult to get the shifter into a comfortable position because of the way the sweep on the bends it.

Which set of bars did you get ? The traditional drop or the ergo drop ?
I normally like my tops either dead flat or slightly tilted upwards...how do you set yours up ?

I have these.

My LBS dude set them up.. he told me they were odd and he had to tilt them up a lot to get the shifters into a comfortable position. Here's a shot of them on the bike. You can see how they are on there.

I probably wont use them on the Bottechia frame Im going to get from BD unless we can come up with a better way to position them.

I ride them every day and find them comfortable on longer rides as well.
