^^ Rad is indeed the King of (tastefully done) Bling.

Wonder how the Tete is doing...

vic32amg 12-14-07 08:59 PM

Colnago orbea look cervelo. I think the Look bikes are nice race bike but not a who lot of bling. Cervelo the same. Cervelo quality up close is not very blingy.

Maybe my sarcasm was too hard to see. I thought the 22 logos drove it home, followed up with the excessive inflation of that number to 28. Or, if that failed, the white text. *shrug*

I think it's unsold and therefore uncut. So much for test rides, eh?

Midwest Ullrich 12-14-07 09:17 PM

To me, deep section aero wheels (especially the all black no-sticker & no aluminum rim type) make the machine look sexy and fast regardless of what brand or material the frame is. e.g. a CAD9 + Zipp 404s looks much more aggressive to me than a Look 595 + Open pros.

vic32amg 12-14-07 09:22 PM

NO bike with that has Cannondale on it will ever be aggressive looking for me. Just not my cup of tea. but many hate Orbeas too..

roy5000x2 12-14-07 09:24 PM

I think this should be enough bling for ya

Ridden exclusively by rich, old guys.

As much as I am a fan of Merlin's subtle engravings, that is overkill. Like leprosy style overkill.

If you want to attract women, you need one of these:

Sorry, no Asian made product can be considered bling however falsely advertised as "Made in [insert your preferred boutique country]" it is.

That said, I am an Asian, just so people don't label me prejudice.

patentcad 12-14-07 09:46 PM

Colnagos are for Wussy Idiots.

BMC>Pinarello>Colnago>Cervelo

my favorites being the BMC and Cervelo

Looks are nice, but I think they are a bit boring (in a good way, but still boring).

terry b 12-14-07 09:55 PM

You sure?

I don't think I'd have Orbea and Cervelo on my list.

Here's two - understated bling. Bit brand crazy, but hey, who's counting? No one can read them if you're riding properly.

Look I don't think falls under bling. pure race. Colnago is Blings purest form.

Orbea I would consider semi bling - cervelo are race bikes. The finish on Cervelos were always suspect up until recently. Cervelo would often have runs in the clear, also the alignment of the decals used to be noticeably un even. these are not very bling characteristics. But the construction of the bike was always strong and fast. I think most people see a white bike like the LOOK and think bling.

Duke of Kent 12-14-07 11:04 PM

Colnago and Cervelo, even Orbea, are more "pure race" than any LOOK I've seen, besides their TT frames.

Looks have always been a paintjob, and some sort of frame component (ISP, rear wheel cutout, etc) that they introduce to set them apart, yet still fail, at with the least the ones I've seen. No real innovation, really.

Colnago takes their time in development, and make classic, well fitting, great handling and very comfortable bikes.

Cervelo, despite their miserable paint, are pushing the limits of engineering and materials.

LOOK...they extend the seat tube, make a bike less portable and storable, and determine that's an advantage.

bikeM3987 12-14-07 11:05 PM

Does no one consider BMC bling?

Nope, BMC is not bling. I certainly will not drool over BMC and I've seen the actual Pro Machine frame in person and held it. Little to no bling factor there.

Orbea is not bling, definitely a brand I will never own.
Cervelo is not bling, I would consider owning but overpriced, although their marketing states advance and technical engineering which to me is overrated to some extent.

Colnago is bling for sure, except really overpriced and overrated bling, and some Colnagos are made in China, which undermined the blingness of the brand.

These are all ridable brands who invested time and resources into research and development, bling factor aside, you can't go wrong with any of these.

vic32amg 12-14-07 11:36 PM

BMC race bike ( even tho they have a notoriously flexy top tube ) my best friend ride one. nice bike tho. I would say race bike.
