YAY!! Wilson is home!! Woo Hoooo!! :D

Oo. That Specialized is kinda glaring at Wilson there. I'd move them a little further apart if I were you.

Only the RC Mounties will search the Rockies for your bike.

:lol::beer::lol:

I let the Specialized "borrow" Wilson's wheels for a bit. She's the jealous/possesive type and doesn't want to give them up now.

Do you mind if I ask where you got Wilson? I am looking for a good deal on a LS mtn. brother to my Siena. PM me if you want.

Beautiful bike, I can't wait to see it/him with his suit on.

Thanks.

I bought a set of Gipiemme wheels on ebay in Sept. Got a good deal on them (practically stole them). Then someone at Fedex stole them from me. I still haven't been reimbursed for them. They were insured but Fedex will only deal with the seller (2003blown). The seller has really drug his feet on this one. So looks like I'm out some cash, and the wheels.

Never again with Fedex, especially after reading this thread, it mirrored my case almost to the tee. Except in this thread there was a happy ending. :D

Of COURSE it took nine days, The wheels are in Canada.

NICE bike. I have waited less time for things much smaller than a new bike. It is frustrating to say the least. It was a fun thread to read, now that it all turned out OK. Enjoy your new ride.

Has a nametag been ordered for Wilson?
http://bikenames.com/

No affiliation... just think Wilson should be recognized.

Seems I'm in the same boat, except with a missing wheel....UPS messed-up shipment on my new PT 2.4 SL wheel, now it won't arrive until next week (hopefully).

A couple weeks ago, I ordered the PT wheel, cassette and chain. Stuff was shipped Dec 12.

On Dec 20, UPS rings doorbell and hands me a small package (obviously too small to have a wheel inside). Driver can't answer. I take possession of the small package, open it and it's the cassette and chain.

I call UPS immediately. They don't have a clue and tell me to call back tomorrow to open a case. I do, still no help.

Unfortunately, communication between the shipper and I was temporarily disrupted during the holidays, so I had little info to go on other than the original tracking number...which, was successfully delivered.

Finally, on Jan 02, I get a new tracking number for the missing wheel from the shipper. Somehow, the packing slip, which was on the package, was removed and wasn't there when it went through Customs. So, the package sat and sat and sat. Apparently, they were trying to get ahold of me....hmmm, never had any phone calls at my home, work or cell.

At any rate, I've got a new tracking number and my wheel will be here next Thursday! What a fiasco!

I hate UPS!

Thanks for all of the kinds words folks, I'm so glad to have Wilson home.

Below is a pic of the build as of last night. I caught some kinda flu so I quit when I started seeing double. Also, I ran into a kinundrum as I could't decide if I liked the white bar tape or not. I played it safe and went with black for now. I also realized that I need to go buy some torx wrenches to finish the brakes. Why did Campy do that? Now I have to buy a new multi-tool that has torx! :( I also need to buy a Campy Ultratorque wrench to install the crank.

Cheers!

Black saddle = black tape. Anyone tells ya different, kick 'em in the jimmy.

Also, since I'm a pedant...it's conundrum.

/I really like the bike. Love the Vortex frameset.

uspspro 01-04-08 03:55 PM

FYI the Shimano BB cup tool works on the Campy too.

the flu ? Looks like to much Smirnoff ?

Tequila Joe 01-05-08 01:38 PM

All that Smirnoff was used to keep me sedated while I was waiting for the bike to arrive.
