Bianchi San Lorenzo - redone w/ Ksyriums
I promise this will be the last thread about my Bianchi, at least for this year.
I took home a pristine '06 Ksyrium SL SSC wheelset yesterday for $300 through Craigslist.
Stopped by Performance on the way home and picked up some tires and a Forte Precision Carbon seatpost. Devilishly light at 152 g - that's 60 g less than my Easton EC70 (which incidentally is up for sale).
Old story but bear with me: I afford my bike stuff basically by jumping on deals, buying, building, selling, and penny-pinching in general (like buying used shorts). It's taken me two years, six road bikes, and hundreds of transactions to get to this point. (Highlights include a Campagnolo Zonda aero front wheel for $5, 1970s Record Strada cranks hidden inside a box of free bike parts, etc. The list goes on.) Through this, I've learned everything I know about bikes.
But now I'm done, and it's kind of an odd moment for me. I think I've finally hit the point in a chronic tinkerer/upgrader's life where there is nothing more to do to the bike. I'm completely satisfied. The problem is exactly that, though: I have nothing more to do. (Except for venture further north into the magical land of Dyminishing Returnnes, but I don't feel like it.) Without any further plans for upgrades, my life lacks purpose.
Maybe I'll actually have to start riding this thing.
She sits around 17.2 lbs. Full 10-speed Ultegra, 1045 g Bianchi scandium frame.

Very nice, I like the Schwinn Quality top cap. I wish the Cleveland Craigslist was worth a damn. Is that a stock fork? It matches too well with the frame to be a Bianchi )The factory usually puts celeste highlights, right?)

Gotta love those wheels at that price. I picked up 2 sets of SSC's and a set of Elites on similar deals this year...great bang for the buck.
Whole bike is awfully nice. Tastefully done and well thought out. Good job.
You may be done for now, but the itch will soon need to be scratched once again.

Great looking bike. The San Lorenzo is one of my favorite bikes out there. I am not generally a fan of the celeste, but it looks awesome on that bike.

BTW: I saw a full D-A groupset minus post and hubs for $660 from a well-reputed online retailer that would look killer on that bike.

Where's the hub cap? I could have sworn there was a cap that goes over the spoke butts.

You have done a beautiful job on that one.
But surely, one bike is not enough?

It looks like he needs to lower the saddle a touch and level out the top of the bars.
Looking at an old shot the seat post and saddle looks a little lower in the old shot.
