Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

'04 10spd Campy Chorus Shifters compatible w/ new Campy??

I've got a nice set of paid for 2004 Campy Chorus 10spd Ergo shifters that I'd like to use in the near future and have read that pre-Quick Shift era shifters work better with pre-Quick Shift era front derailleurs (Campy Quick Shift started in 2007). So I'm now on the lookout for a Campy 10spd front derailleur from 2004-2006.

Besides the front derailleur are there any other 2007-2008 10spd components (crank, rear der., cassette, chain) that I should be concerned about if using my 2004 Chorus shifters?

If given a choice, I'd rather just get 2007-2008 Campy as it's easier to find.

Thanks

I've got 2004 campy centaur on one of my bikes. Someone recently posted a part that you can change on your pre QS left shifter that will upgrade that shifter to QS. If you want the pre QS front derailer, plenty to be found on ebay.

Everything else is totally compatible. I'm running the new UT cranks on my setup.

Like Rutnick said, everything else is compatible.

The front DR is somewhat compatible. I ran a QS FD with a non-QS shifters, it took two swings to change from the small to the big chainring. I bought a non-QS Chorus FD to remedy this, cost me $20.

Thanks. It always helps to info from people who've ran into the same situation.

Anyone got a 2004-2006 compact specific Campy front der. they're looking to part with?
