I generally don't have a problem with that part of the plumbing. I now use a Serfase split seat and that took care of that. You have a nerve bettween your legs thats getting pinched off and your equipment is going to sleep during the ride. The pain you are experiencing is when the blood flow returns. A good split seat will take care of the situation. Best take care of that.

It takes a lot of time and messing with the seat for some people to get a comfortable position that does not pinch any important bits. Tilt, fore and aft position and height all make a difference with very small adjustments.

On occassion I'll have a temporary discomfort in someway. If I was seated funny, or the shorts bunched up on me. I think that can occur with out any major significance or repercussions.

I HATE it when Mr. Happy retreats from the rain! My wife had a good laugh about three weeks ago :P Still, no burning. Maybe something irritating got in Mr Happy's mouth? If your shorts weren't rinsed well, some detergent residue might have caused it (kind of like when Mr. Happy tastes the soap every once in a while in the shower) :(

along the same lines, anyone know offhand of any shorts that are slightly fuller cut through the neighborhood? i just got a pair of garneaus that were clearly designed without contemplating that something had to go in the front area of the short. spandex that simply crushes the life out of...er...mr. happy isn't much fun on a 3-4 hr ride.

You should stop riding in your wife's panty hose. :D

Burning?? What was her name?

Those European shorts dont have much 'package' room do they?
Better not try Asian made shorts.

It brings to mind the character Elaine Benes' line: "I don't see how you guys walk around with those things." :D

But seriously, I've had the numbness (novacaine crotch), but never the burning. Getting medical advice would be wise if it happens again.

Good luck.

Also make sure you are staying hydrated. Some time's people think that it's cool, it's raining and forget to drink. That will also cause a burning sensation. It's the amount that was in your bladder before you started. Make sure you are absolutely comfortable on your seat though.
