La Marmotte
Hi all,
I know that La Marmotte first started in 1981, but does anyone know if it's the oldest cyclosportive in France or Europe?

That link is........I don't even know what to say to that.
I'm talking about La Marmotte, the mass-timed race (cyclosportive) held in France every year in July usually around the time of the Etape du Tour. This year it is on Saturday July 5th and the official website is www.sportcommunication.com
Having done the Etape the last 2 years, I wanted to try La Marmotte for a change and can't seem to find the origins of the race just for my own personal interest.
So again I ask "Does anyone know if La Marmotte is the oldest cyclosportive in France/Europe?"
