Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Allow me to introduce the twins...

...fraternal twins that is

The SL-2 was on order for months but the first frame set came in in October....cracked in two $%^&*@!!! She Finally made it home safe yesterday.

The Stumpy was purchased on a bit of a whim after a particulary bumpy ride on my 1st gen S-works Epic

Thanks so much to Eric at SMC for giving me great deals on both!

Had to share

Cheers!

It is one of my goals in life to be able to purchase a $7400 bicycle "on a whim".

Congrats. I'm not digging the curves on the MTB. Looks like Schwinn Cruiser. I'm sure it's a fine frame though.

I'm surprised that the SL2 is that heavy... I thought they were supposed to be under 15 pounds.

nice pair, but I'd hate to have white hoods unless you LOVE wearing new gloves, even then white hoods seems like a bad idea to me.

That MTB is one of the best XC machines on the market. I'm guessing you're not much of a MTB rider. Being a MTB racer myself, I really don't look whether a MTB looks good. My XC bike is ugly as sin but she gets the job done.

Actually, the early MTB's weren't much more than a Scwhinn cruiser.

It's been a while, but I've raced off-road and done well. DH and XC.

hot bikes.

very nice floor you've got. and that is one wide door to be able to fit a big frame through sideways!

White hoods are easier to clean than white bar tape, I'd say keep e'm they look hot.

then I don't understand the comment about the FSR. That's a serious machine. I've raced too and I'm drooling over it. 5" front and rear travel and all the top shelf parts plus a new for 2008 frame. The only downside to me is the proprietory front and rear shocks but wouldn't make me think twice about buying it if I could afford it. Clean bike and I hope it comes with tubless. Specialized used to not have tubless rims and that was a turnoff to me.

Then again....my attitude is if it fits and works....

My FS bike is a 2005 and has a ton of stickers on it hiding missing paint. It's ugly but she does the job and does it well.

My Giant TCR is 16.5, but I just ordered an SL (not SL2) in a 54. Hoping that with SRAM Red and light wheels I can get it under 15. My understanding is that there is about 100g difference between the SL and SL2.

What part of "I don't like the way it looks" don't you understand? I'm not commenting on the quality of the machine. It just reminds me of a Schwinn Cruiser.

Every race in the world could be won on one of these bikes, and I still wouldn't like the curves of the tubes.

Capish?
