Need a little frame selection help
I'm on the search for a new frame, $600-$750 for frame/fork is about the limit. I'm currently stuck on the Planet X Team Issue, my LBS owner just ordered one for himself and its a beautiful frame. I'm trying to build a something nice, no sub15'er, for under $2500 and to replace my allez. I don't like complete's because i want to choose my own components.
I can't seem to find many other frames in that price range. It may just be my poor searching skills but i never see much discussion unless its about $7k completes or $2k frames. So i'd love some help or suggestions if i need to spend less or expect to spend more for a nice frame.

Check smartcycles.com for some Ciocc, Coppi and Debernardi frames starting at less than $400 and going on up to infinity. Also, www.repartocorse.com has some good deals on a lot of the same stuff.
Lugged steel for $420.
Aluminium frame, carbon seatstays & fork for $715.
I'll say it so you don't have to--SHILL!!!

Why not stick with Planet X? Their carbon frames are pretty swish.
Failing that, Bianchi makes some nice frames at decent prices. But then there are billions of options out there. Have a look at Opus too - small company, great frames. I've got an Allegro and it's lovely. Even if a company doesn't list individual framesets on their site, they can almost always be had on special order.
GVH Bikes has a varying and often rather eclectic selection of frames as well. Same with The Pros' Stuff.

awesome help guys, i'm just new at the custom road bike game and wasn't really sure where to look. the RS2 group buy is gonna be a great deal i'm just not a huge fan of carbon. gonna check out the stuff you guys listed and maybe something will push the planet x off the top of my list. not in dire need to order the frame but, i just picked up my wheels today but they are nicely home on my allez for the time being.

group buy on a carbon frame isn't exactly what i'm looking for. planning to have this done for the upcoming season and an unknown wait for a groupbuy isn't exactly what i'm looking for.

+1 for Ciocc, i got a COM 12.5 (steel) a few months ago that i'm in LOVE with! (get the blue/white colors though, the black/yellow looks bad if you ask me).
they go for about $800 or so, with fork.
