About to start racing.
Hey, guys.
I have a few questions from the road racers on the forum. I'm a college student, and I'm about to start racing on the collegiate circuit with my team from school (we're new; please donate!). I've never done racing of any sort before, but when I go out on my rides I would try to make it a habit to do some sections of them with high effort.
What can I expect for my first season? How rigourous can the training get, and how should I prepare or adjust to it? For those that raced in college, is bike racing an easy way to lose track of academic progress? For the winter, I've been riding less, but I did calisthenics (not regularly, though) and moderated my diet to make up for the lack of work I was doing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!
