Pedals
I am finally going to make the step up to clipless pedals. Any suggestions. I've been looking at the Shimaon 105 as that is the groupo on my new bike.

Shimano 105 SPD-SL's. The new versions of the pedals are one of the best choices for large contact area, semi-walkable cleats. Of course they aren't as easily walkable as SPDs with MTB shoes, but that's the price you pay for comfort and performance.

You didnt mention your budget....you could buy reasonable "look"-alike pedals from nashbar or performance for 40 bucks, if you are on a budget. The 105's or ultegras are also reasonable. If funds are very tight, you can get used pedals off of ebay.

I have Look Keo classics. I got them because they seemed to be a good pedal for the money. I like them a lot; they're easy to clip in to and haven't had a single problem with slipping off.

A pedal you don't hear much about in the states is Keywin - easy entry/exit, lightweight, easy walkability, affordable. My brand new 6620's are about to go in the drawer next to the 6610's.

I quite like my Time RXS pedals. Easy in and out, low stack height, rubberised ground contact points when you're walking.

I switched to speedplays last year, fantastic....now when I ride anthing else it feels like I have foot closterphobia. Although, I know speedplays are not for everyone but they are great if you have bad knees they are also very light. I mght have a set I'm gonna put on e-bay soon if interested (recently went from 2 bikes to 1)

if you are going to buy clipless pedals go with something with a bigger platform. You will see people on here who love speedplays and are total fanboys but most of the time speedplays and pedals with big float cause trop to your knees and hips. there are a few people who can ride them without problems. Zero float pedals are the best way to go. if these are set up correctly then they are perfect. and as for the bigger platform. anything from looks to shimano to times. anything that basically follows the Look platform. dont do speedplays. Not saving any weight with speed plays either

Had my Ultegra 6610's for over a year and they have been great. Nice wide platform for good transfer and for me, easy click in/out. The newer model, 6620, are great value when purchased from PBK as previously mentioned.
