If you really want to know, send a PM to jinws and post the result.

i'm just curious as to why he'll almost always chime in when there's a chance to pimp bd, but has nothing to add when there's an issue.

say what? Are you saying I have or I am pimping BD? I don't see how I could have in the past considering this is the first thing I've purchased from BD.

I'm also having issues with the bearings. I purchased a CC IS-2, and the bearings do not fit into the cups in the headtube at all. The headtube measures just under 41mm in diameter. and the bearings are about 41.8mm.

Can't tell you if it sticks out of the headtube or not, I can't even get it in.

Sounds like you actually bought the headset designed for the Campy "hiddenset", which has a 41.8 OD bearing. I found the hard way myself that there are about five or seven different "integrated" systems out there, and most have zero interchange compatibility...at all. Here is a good page from Park tool that explains it all... http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=68
