Seacoast Century
I just rode in my first organized cycling event yesterday, the Seacoast Century! I wasn't quite ready for 100 miles yet, but I did finish the metric century route, which went from Hampton Beach State Park, New Hampshire, to York, Maine, and back.
The weather turned out great, despite worries that Hurricane Isabel would cause trouble. I really enjoyed the ride. Was anybody else in these forums there? |
This year's Seacoast Century is coming up, on September 25 and 26. Anyone else here riding in it this year?
|
Not me but I sure would like some salftwater taffy from the Goldenrod in York Beach! Mmmmm....molasses mint.

Not this year, but I really enjoyed it the last time arround. Great event!

Anyone out there going to the Seacoast Century this year? I'm thinking about it; it would be my first organized ride outside of the Tour De Cure. I'm thinking about the metric century or the half century, and would love to have a group to attach to. Most likely, but not sure, I will participate on Sunday. My average for longer distances usually around 16.5 but last 50 miler, fairly flat, with some wheel-sucking, was 17.2.
Here's the link for anyone new: http://www.granitestatewheelmen.org/...C-HomePage.htm P.S. I'll be driving up from upstate NY (about four hours) |
