They've been difficult to get a hold of as Specialized has been slow to get them out the door. You might not have much of a choice for shopping around at this point because a lot of places won't have any in stock for a while yet.

IIRC, Specialized is one of the brands that prohibits online sales.
Anyway, ride it, sucka, and then support the LBS.

Your best bet is to get in touch with a Specialized dealer/Concept Store nearest you, depending where you live.

A couple of team members choose the sl2 for their team buy and specialized has none for them.

Is this a chronic problem with Specialized and their higher end bikes? I waited 18 months for an S-Works Roubaix frame in my size under their frame replacement policy, and thought the dealer was jerking me around. The dealer steadfastly said Specialized didn't have the replacement size I needed. Maybe I was being too hard on the dealer?

I don't think it's a chronic problem... At least I hope not.
From what I hear, the full range of 2008 bikes are in stores now with the single exception being the SL2. Not sure what the distinction is. I heard that most places will start to get them in by April.
All of the replacement frames that have come through my local shop have been dealt with in a matter of weeks if not days. From my experiences, they are also real good about sending out warranty parts, too. Your situation may have been a special case. I'm not sure.

I've had a Transition on order since Dec. Today the LBS told me they expect it this month. We shall see.

Not sure if it's chronic or not. I got my SL real quick so I'm guessing its just the sl2. Probably because they set the pro teams up first, new build process etc.
