do you guys think that the new scott cr1 team is a lil overpriced at $1999 with full 105 components?

I do.

even though scott makes some terrific carbon fiber frames, i think that they think they're worth more than they actually are.

When I bought mine I thought they were about 20% higher in price than comparable or even slightly better component Specialized, Trek or Giant but priced similarly to Orbea, Look etc. I ended up getting the previous model year which I preferred anyway since the 06 CR1 was more race geometry than the 07s. I have about 3000 miles on mine and I love it.

i think my model cr1 team is a 2005.

i love it and would have paid $500 more if i had to.

you can find them on ebay for super cheap. I think scott is one of the best bang for the buck.

+1. I feel my '08 CR-1 Pro is at least as good as the similarly equipped '08 Madone 5.2, but it cost a good bit less. The Trek was retailing for about $3400, and I got my CR-1 for a good bit under $3k.

Why do you think it's overpriced? Just because it has 105 components and the average bike equipped with 105 is cheaper? It's a fantastic frame that in my opinion should not even be sold with components lower than Ultegra...

yea, popov you pretty much nailed it. i would figure that the bike would be more around that price if it was ultegra. but then again, the frame is superb. so idk, maybe possibly i can sell my dirt bike, save up some more money and pick up the scott.

What are the prices on the '09 models? From the website, they look unchanged. But, I never saw a CR1 selling for MSRP in '08.
