Slow easy ride shot to heck

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Slow easy ride shot to heck

This was suppose to be a slow, easy, long ride. It was what was planned. Really. But they tested me. It was their fault. Not mine. They kept attacking me and going off the front giving me "the look." I can't sit back and let them do that. No. My pride got in the way. But I hurt. My legs were practically useless from intervals and hard riding this week. And no matter how hard they went I tried to stay with them. Twice I popped on some hard climbs. But I caught back up and kept digging. I was greatful when the 73 mile ride was over and we were sipping coffee and laughing. But, now. Now, my legs are jello. I get winded walking up stairs or playing with the dog. Those scumbags hurt me.

I loved it.

next time, rest up the day before the ride, then tell them you went hard yesterday and you're on your recovery ride. Then smash them when they try to hurt you.
