Mavic - Wireless W/cadence
 

Mavic is coming out with a wireless computer with a cadence option. What makes this unique is the speed sensor is integrated in the skewer.

functions are as follows, Current Speed, Max Speed, Average Speed, Clock, Ride Time, Trip Distance, Total Distance, Total Accumulated Distance, Trend Indication (+/- vs. average speed) and a wireless cadence option.

I like it!! Got any links for someone who actually has for sale? Like Performance or whomever? I am a slave to my Cateye Astrale w/cadence. But like this idea to go with my Ksyriums.

Hmmm, it must be a virtual cadence like the Shimano Flightdeck. I don't mind virtual cadence, and think it just as good as actual cadence. The only difference would be that the actual cadence could generate an accurate average cadence.

I like the idea of not worrying about a magnet on the spokes, and a pod on the fork.

I guess it won't be available until sometime in Nov.

according to the Mavic site it has a cadence sensor so if I read
it correctly it isn't virtual cadence but the real thing.
hmmm, may be time to replace the Astrale!

Hmmm, there must be another sensor for the crank, then. Hmmmm ....

Doesn't virtualy cadence work by knowing what gear you are in and basing youre cardence on that and the wheel circumference. So only way virtual cadence will work is if it integrates with the shifters.

i can't figure this out...there has to be a magnet that goes on the wheel somewhere, right? how else would the speed sensor be able to track anything?

i think the cadence sensor just gets attached to the crankarm, and the skewer sensor can detect that as well somehow? i'm assuming the skewer is for the rear wheel in this case

anyone remember the older mavic wireless shifting systems? that was seriously some cool sh*t.

Now for THE question - how much?

If it is not outlandish, this is the computer that is going on my new bike.
