Comments on this De Rosa please

I'm very interested in a upper end, Campy equipped road bike and found this one interesting. I ride a Bianchi with Reynolds steel frame and love the bike and Campy Mirage drivetrain. However, I am looking for more performance and lighter. I have a 20% off coupon to get this right at $2000. They have my size...deal or no deal?

do it.

yeah, I agree -- do it. :) That's nice, seems like a good deal, and would feel very different from your old steel bike.

My 2nd alu frame was made with Dedacciai 7003 (I've still got it), which I reckon is an underrated tube-set. It depends on the tube dimensions and size, but my 7003 is stiff, although not too stiff, giving a fast-feeling ride

I'll third the motion. Pull the trigger!

Go for it. You will also love the Centaur, it shifts great, and is really durable.

do it

Look at some reviews for those FSA wheels before you buy. I don't know anything about them and they're the only suspect part of the deal.

Frame weight 9 pounds, 6 ounces?!? That has to be a misprint.

^^^ No kidding, caught that too..... either that or I need those components on that bike! ;)

Sierra Trading Post also gets Kestrel and other great bikes. Although I love DeRosa, you are paying a lot of money for an aluminum bike there. You can get a very nice carbon fiber and or titanium or steel at that price.

No doubt.

Absolutely not. I don't trust those wheels, it's just a 7005 series aluminum frame, and 2600 seems a bit steep for a centaur equipped bike.

: )

I'm really a fan of DeRosa bikes, I just don't think the value is there with this one. I also think you should test ride everything before you buy
