Bianchi "Professional"

Anyone know anything about this early 90's road bike? It's the classic celeste color with a chromed fork, shimano 600 and campy components... not sure what kind of tubing... I'm looking at one for sale on craigslist, and really like the bike from the photos I've seen, but am pretty certain the seller has overpriced it at $650... what would be a reasonable asking price for this bike in good condition? I'd like make an offer that isn't insulting, but I'm a student, so don't want to overpay either... any advice is appreciated- original retail value, depreciation, approx. worth, etc... I haven't been able to find any information about this model online... perhaps because it is in the gap between "vintage" and newer bikes? Any feedback on this model would be most helpful. I'm not going to be doing any serious racing on it, just looking for a faster more fun alternative to my everyday commuter/grocery hauler to ride around town, and love the more classic styling of this bike. Thanks for any help, and take care!

Any bike with a mix of Campy and Shimano is a hodge podge and does not have all original parts. With that out of the way, does it have STI/Ergo, or downtube shifters? If the former, the bike is probably in the $300-400 range to me. If the latter, no more than $200, unless there is some vintage collector's value on the particular model (but then again, it's not all stock).

Well, the groupset appears to be all shimano 600... the headset and downtube shifters are campy. I know those shifters are not used on newer models, but I have them on my old specialized commuter (a kludge of my own- they're the clamp on 70's campys, not the frame-boss mounted ones on this bianchi, but the same idea and like them just fine for flat chicago streets- not many hills to shift for here! Glad to hear your price opinion, and similar to what i was seeing for related bikes on craigslist elsewhere... I will try making an offer!
