What an exciting stage 7 finish!

That surge on that last climb was such an awesome display of World Class Cyclist Hincapie saying 'sorry kid, this party's over'. Great effort by the Bissell dude, convincing demonstration of George's considerable Spring Classic mojo. And at the end Hincapie just flat had more gas in his tank than anybody else. Epic finish. Really enjoyed it.

It was awesome. The Bissell guy killed for half the day, and George just put it into another gear and was on him in about a hundred yards. Great ride for both of them.

It was a long cold week for everyone. I'm glad to see that George still has it. He's been in a most of the major breaks all week long, but he finally got one to stick. I hope they get ride of these 20 mile flat finishes next year. Some big hills at the end of the day will give the breakaways a much better chance and make the race more exciting.

The NASCAR boys could not race in the rain.
But the guys in there lycra went out in 45 degree rainy weather, miserable day.
Those guys are tough.

Yeah, I think he said his pre season weight was closer to 190. Dropping 10-15lbs during training is not very hard. That was simply an awesome race he rode yesterday. And all week.

That doesn't really mean bike racers are tough, it just shows how wimpy NASCAR is. Formula 1, motorcycles, runners... almost everyone else races in the rain. NASCAR stops the race if a piece of paper blows onto the track.

Thanks to versus too. They did a great job considering the conditions. That may have been the most exiting last stage of any tour I have ever watched.

The interesting thing about the rain was that it seemed to be caused by, or worsened by, the helicopter. It would be lightly sprinkling right up until they would come around and then it would pour, and as soon as they passed it would stop again...

89 Tdf
I did see the 89 TDF but the 30 minutes on "wide world of sports" greatly diminished the "excitement" for me. Plus it was a TT. The laps at the end of the stage really made the difference.

Big George finished second and first on the two worst nasty weather days on the TOC, this bodes well for the spring classics. Will this year be his year for Paris-Roubaix?
Super exciting finish I was on the edge of my seat for half an hour. When George closed down that 15 sec gap on the final climb I knew he was the strongest man in the break, but the question still remained can he pull it out? Yes he can.
