Race fit jerseys

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Race fit jerseys

Where would be the best place to get cheap race fit jerseys? I have a really cheap club cut jersey and I'm looking to try a tighter cut. What do you guys think of race cut jerseys anyway?

I started out buying club cut jerseys....and now I've decided that I prefer the tighter fit of a race cut...or a smaller size in the club cut.

The performance ultra jersey fits me ok. It's not the greatest, but better than anything else that I'm willing to buy - being a skinflint can limit sizing options.

yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm a pretty skinny guy. Would that make race fit jerseys more up my alley?

Yes. Club Cut is for those more "generously proportioned"

And actually even though I'm closer to that than I am to "skinny", I still prefer the race cut. For whatever reason, my body's curves do not match those of the club cut's (Voler, anyway).

Oh yeah race cut is lighter! Very important!!!!

Race Fit is only way too roll. The "club cut" look very baggy on me. Too bad you can only get "race fit" through team order.

Voler does make custom race fit jerseys, but are any of there any ready-made race fit jerseys on the web site?

I don't think so. Maybe occasionally when they have their overstock/clearance sales you might be able to find one. Otherwise it's Club City.

Just size down 1 or 2 sizes.

As a very skinny guy, so far I've only found size small Giordana jersey's fit me properly. Sierra trading post has them sometimes.

That was my problem with buying smaller sized club cut jerseys. They would hug my torso to my liking but they lacked the length I needed.

Assos is very trim, but expensive -- even on eBay, the Uno sells for >$100.

Try Sierra Trading Post for Giordana and Campagnolo SS jerseys -- trim cut, excellent quality, at decent prices. Be forewarned that the really steep discounts are for lousy baggy jerseys just because those are most common.

By the way, you can get away with buying too-small jerseys if you wear bibshorts, as those keep your crack from showing when the jersey rides up your backside.

I have a couple of Performance race fit jerseys. They are of decent quality and the is under $30 (on sale.) Certainly better than their shorts and tights.

I've gotten random pro team and anonymous domestic team race fit jerseys by Nalini on eBay for crazy cheap (like under $20). New.

Nah, I'm 6'3, 170lbs and wear a M in that plain black Voler jersey. If you wear it with bibs then no problem. If you wear it with shorts you might get a little skin showing on the back when you're riding.

These are made by Voler: LINK

The short sleeved jersey was on sale for around $22.00 a month ago.
I bought one (for that price it was hard not to) and it's pretty nice...and it matches my bike.
