Lance returns to the big time

Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

Lance returns to the big time

Check out this music video from some Austin (I think) band:

https://www.c3presents.com/Video/sultan_preview.mov

it has cycling relevance; just wait until the end.

That's actually pretty funny, hadn't seen the video.

It is an Austin band though, and I've heard them a few times: https://www.whatmademilwaukeefamous.com/

SXSW is right around the corner. Man, we really need a crit associated with that event. That would be badass to have 6 bands in a 6-corner crit

It's not a bad song, really. Very Austin, but not bad.

Is it me or does Lance seem lost since her retired? He ditched Crow, diddled an Olson, hung with degenerates and now this? I just wish he'd plain go away.

I think it is just you. Breaking up with a girlfriend and dating is nothing earth shattering. Degenerates? Do mean the SS&FG gang? They may disagree ....or maybe agree with that I don't think making a video with some locals is anything to be embarrassed about. Lance is the BEST thing that has ever happened to US cycling. I hope he never goes away.

"Dating" an Olson? You date a woman who works in you publicist's office or someone you meet at one of the cancer fundraiser functions. An Olsen is just such a odd choice, non?

Degenerates as it compares to his very managed corporate image when he was racing. Did you see the pics of him? He looks uncomfortable and very out of place in that crowd. I think there was even a bong water stain on his shirt.

Same point as above. If he was doing things like this while racing then it would seem much more normal. For someone who seems to be so focused in the things he applies himself to he just seems, well...unfocused and grasping.

I do think the commercials he did about managing the sporting goods store were hilarious. Probably the best thing he's ever put on film, IMHO.

This may be true. Others may disagree. Maybe too much of a good thing then?

I never liked him as a rider and still am not a fan. I don't even like the guy and look how much I know about him.

loved it. Glad to see that lance is out having some fun, instead of just getting fat, or spending all day in court.

But ya, this is foo material.

I got sucked into watching the video so I felt it was worth a comment. Then one thing lead to another and here we are.
