2007 Specialized Tarmac Expert

I purchased the bike (black and yellow frame)about 13 months ago and shortly afterward noticed the clear coat on the left side of the fork just below the head tube slightly worn. I thought maybe this happened with the assembly of the bike, and since it was only the clear coat didn't think anything about it. I would routinely clean the bike and noticed the worn area getting slightly larger. Well, four days ago I was cleaning the bike and noticed not only is the clear coat worn away but now the carbon is affected and there is a groove init. What has happened is the front deraileur cable housing has been rubbing against the outer top of the fork! I believe this is due to the placement of the left cable stop on the down tube. The stop is positioned too far under the tube, causing the cable housing to rub against the fork.

Has anyone else had this problem??? Is this a design flaw that should be covered under "manufacturer's defects"? I have had zero experience with warranty issues and have read both good and bad dealings with Specialized. Any input is helpful.

I bet you have a cable rubbing on the fork.

Yes, cable rub.
I have an 07 expert as well with the same issue. Personally, I don't really care.
Everyone of my bikes ends up with scratches, chips, etc.
