Descente sizing
Is it just me, or do Descente jerseys run small? I bought an XL & it's a very tight fit. If I ever do a trime trial, I know which jersey I'll be wearing

Additionally, I will say that my Descente stuff is also some of the finest quality stuff I have. But I don't, and won't, own Assos.

Let me rephrase. The size medium Descente jerseys that I own are noticeably bigger in the belly area than the size medium Pearl Izumi and Voler jerseys that I own. However, Descente is shorter in length (collar to waist) than the other brands.

I own many. They run big IMO. I wear a M for a race fit and I'm 6'0" 180.
WHile were on the subject I thought the pronunciation was De SAWNT

I have three, all run big. The large are loose on me, when on most brands large is snug.

Hmm...I have XLs from Pearl Izumi & Performance, the Descente is about one size smaller. I had to double check the tag to make sure they sent the right size, yup, they did.

I wear a Descente jacket in XL that appears to be exactly the same size as every Pearl Izumi I've tried in size L.

Yeah, that's what I said.... Until I tried on an assos jacket! It's now my favorite thing to wear (in the cold of course).

And for the pronunciation, I'm quite sure it's "Deh-sawnt." Like "croissant," or some such Frenchiness.
I just prefer to say "Day-sin-tay."

And so it appears we have a bit of a disaggreeance in our opinions here. Clearly you guys are all wrong and I am right (and whoever else agreed with me.)

The fit on Descente stuff depends a lot on the specific garment. If you go to their site you'll find they have three different types of fit: contour fit, semi-contour fit, and casual fit. For instance, the velom jacket that I have is a semi-contour fit, which fits me true to size as a guy with a reasonably athletically build, but not anywhere near the typical physique of a competitive cyclist. In a contour fit I'd probably have to size up; in a casual fit it would probably be baggy, but I'm not sure if I'd size down or not. Unfortunately, they now only explicitly tell you what the fit is on jackets, not on the jerseys, but I believe that they have the same scheme working on jerseys.

No side panels on a Descente, the sizing is strange compared to Nalini and Santini jerseys
