Stupid thing was on the left side of the bike path I was using to transition roads, Im cruising along and anyone who rides around those *******s knows how they are with the flapping and the snapping. So he like looks and doesn't do anything... all of a sudden when Im like RIGHT THERE he decides to cross the path. I go up into an endo. Got him on his wing/neck and then body. Man... good thing I have some nice ORIGINAL rolf vector pros... those things are bombs. Anyways... goose gimped off, probably got eaten by something else? 1 down... lots to go. Seriously tho... poor guy. |
Canadian geese are nasty buggers.

And seemingly full of s**t, too.

Had one fly into my motorbike helmet once. Full face, got to watch him stinging the pad right in front of my eye till I could pull over and whip my helmet off

I got nailed right between the collarbones once. Most recent run-in occured on a golf course. Went to take a sip out of my soda, felt the bee float into my mouth, tried to spit him out, but he got me on the lip on the way out. Little *******.

Yep. Got stung last summer on the way home from work. Went into the ER with anaphlaxis. Left with the knowledge that I've developed an allergy to bee venom. And an Epi-pen for the next time.

im suprised the bee didn't explode on impact! :p |
I thought bees died once they put the stinger in you? When I was a kid I bit into a cheeseburger right after a bee landed on it. Got stung right on the tongue and ran home like....well, a little kid.

I got stung on the tongue once while I was riding. Luckily I'm not really allergic - but it felt like I was riding home with a golf ball in my tongue.

When I was in Greece cycling in the mountains near my parent's summer home in 2006, I was stung just about every day. There are ton of bee keepers up there, they make a lot of honey. I'd be flying down a mountain @ 40mph and I'd thwack one. But those Greek bee stings didn't hurt too much.

I had a bee fly in my mouth and sting me on the inside of my lip. Another time I got stung in the knee while pulling a paceline...

Killer Bees! Dead Ahead! OTHFMGIAGTDABIF! AIIIEEE!
The obligatory HTFU! |
I can assure you that getting stung once a day in the 88ºF summertime paradise that is rural Greece hardly requires any HTFU mojo. More like PTO (Prime Tanning Opportunity).

I was a victim of the wasp in the helmet vent last year. Just off cruising on my own, and I felt some bug go into my vent. Next thing I know the thing was going crazy and stinging the hell out of me before I could even react and take off my helmet.
I had several nice little bumps on my head when I got back home, and to this day I'm still bug-shy everytime I feel something tap against my helmet. |
