Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ritchey WCS wheels compability...

I've got a set of Ritchey WCS Protocol Wheels and tried to put a sram cassette on them tonight. The "Shimano" compatible hub didn't let the sram cassette fit. I thought that shimano and sram 10 speed hubs were compatible with both shimano and sram cassettes.

Tell me if I'm wrong and or just not smart enough to put a round peg onto a round hole.

uhhh... there is one wide spline compared to the rest, try lining those up together.

You must have a Shimano 10 spd freehub. SRAM 10 spd will not fit that. You need the Shimano 8-9-10 spd hub.

Welcome to the real world and not the marketing world. The splines are too tall for the SRAM cassette. I have the same issue.

Both of you are either trying to put it on wrong or the freehub or cassette was manufactured out of spec. No way Ritchey would build a freehub that was 10 speed only when there is no need to do so. The financial implications of negating SRAM are preposterous.

Send an email to Ritchey. They will respond back on the same day.

I think it is a Zero Hub. 10-speed only are not compatible. Verified through the LBS by trying to mount a SRAM cassette and checking the supplier. Shimano money is behind this.

Get a Shimano 10sp cassette, it'll fit. The 10sp splines are better than the 9sp ones- they are deeper so they don't get notched as easily when the freehub body is made from aluminum.
