Aluminum vs. Steel
With more and more pros switching from steel to aluminum, do you think this an omen that the rest of the industry will follow? Are these new wonder alloys really that much better than steel, or is it all marketing-hype?
If they really are that good, how long for the technology to trickle down to the bottom half of the product lines? Are we to see sub-20 lbs. entry-level bikes any time soon?

You Know!? For Kids!
I hear they are going to start using space age technology to build these things. You just wait, before the decade is out, we will see carbon fibre bikes.

Serious answers only please. I'm trying to retro-populate the archives with threads on important issues we missed out on. Just think of it this way; come 2025 we can look back and find an encyclopedic fountain of information and discussion.
Stay tuned for Threadless? It'll never catch-on and Thank goodness they dropped the two-piece crank standard!
