Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

kids. Did he say "WTF?" Because I would die laughing after a good scolding.

One day my oldest daughter - in her younger days - walked in from outside and asked, "What the hell are ya'll watchin?" We still laugh about that.

I want to see your equation and error propagation! Kidding... I've got enough of 'em to deal with right now as is.

Very sweet. I see a good use of a summer Saturday coming up.

Yeah, back in the day, we took video of a launch right next to a building, from pretty far away, zoomed. Knowing frame rate and window heights...

It was actually right next to the CU Engineering Center. 7 stories tall, and I got a couple shot way over the top. Highest single stage was ~400ft. I think my 2-stager got over 600, but didn't really measure (proof of concept that I never followed up on -- altitude is a SWAG based on flight duration). I have a friend who got a 2-stage to 1021ft (triangulated from three observers 1000ft from launch in different directions).

Pull string, FTC slides off zip tie heads, the let the rocket go...
How long before you introduce them to the Potato cannon.

Does your potato canon rely on air? The best potato canons use hair spray / lighter as a propellant. A bit dangerous (ok, really dangerous), but quite the show at night.
