Which bike?
yes another which bike thread.
So about 5 months ago I was hit by a car and the insurance company has been dragging their feet getting things settled. They finally have and also decided to let me keep the old bike and parts. Now I have a useless system six frame and a fully functional chorus grouppo as well as seat, bars, stem etc. It would seem a waste to just leave the group sitting around so I am now looking for a bike to replace the cannondale (I bought another after the crash to have something to ride). Since I already have the other one I'm thinking about a crit bike and since I can use the crash replacement policy on the cannondale I'm going to go with them. I originally was thinking about getting a caad 9 and only using it for racing crits as I have the look 595 for RR, longer rides and the like. I called up the cannondale rep and found out though, that I can get the the system six for 400 more and the super six for 400 more than the system, (don't ask how). So now the question is do I get the system six or the CAAD 9 as a crit bike, or the super six and have two nice bikes. Sensible = CAAD 9 (cheap, stiff, aluminum, crit bike basically) Fun = super six (much nicer, lighter, more comfortable, fun) What would you folks do in this situation. |
Go with the best you can afford. A CAAD9 would be sweet. So would a SuperSix. Can't lose either way, unless you spend more than you have. So go with the best you can afford.

get the bike you don't have and enjoy it.
