Last year I did 24.6mph for 29 miles with I think 5 or 6 guys. At the Point that I crashed out of the Cat1/2/3 RR March 2nd we had done 24.77mph and had in 59 miles, was about 86. There where 2 Jittery Joes guys there and a Jelly Belly and Tom Murphy, both of which had just got back from the Tour of California. And even being that fast there was a break of 13 guys that had almost 10 min on us.

I did a 106 mile ride at 23.0 mph. Non-stop and almost completely solo. Averaged 24 for a flat 80-miles - 5-mile laps, completely solo.

Making a kilometer blurry
I once rode 28 miles in 45 minutes (37mph). Select this entire post to see the details.
Descending Mt Evans (14,260 ft down to 7000 ft.)
We won't talk about the 2.5 hour trip up that I did in the previous ride.

That is pretty fast. I average about 19MPH on this one 60 mile route I have. It starts with an 800 foot elevation gain pretty quickly at the start. then it is all slightly uphill. And then on the way back for about 15 miles it is flat. but the wind usually is a tail wind on the way back too. and that is nice when you're tired.

i jam my thumbs up and back into the tubes. this way i can point my fingers straight out in front to split the wind and attain an even more aero profile, and the usual fixed gear - zen - connectedness feeling through the drivetrain is multiplied ten fold because my thumbs become one with the tubing.
