Here's the latest from the hater:
"This is to the ******* riding the bike with his buddy today...dont worry I dont mind the fact that you decided to move further over into the lane and hit/scratch the side of my SUV, cause the look on your face in my mirror and the sight of you and your buddy colliding and you going end over end was SO worth it.
I will do it again in a heart beat.I hope you read this because Monday,Ill be heading the same way to work so you better hug the edge of the road or i will get your ass again.I will lurk as close as possible to you and all other bikers who think they own the road as I drive by.Im sick and tired of yall."

Surely some sort of internet policing should go on here?
IN the past four weeks, 5 guys in my group have been hit by cars, all on seperate occasions. One died. We've had counteless close calls. One of the incidents was at the race today. At the end of the Cat 3/4 sprint, the cop car came to a stop within 50 yards of the finish line and had a pack of cyclists hurtling towards him. A bunch of guys hit him. He didnt say sorry, he just got out and looked at his bumper. THE OFFICIALS DIDNT EVEN YELL AT HIM. THANKS FOR STANDING UP FOR US.

I don't know much about guns. I don't know much about your shooting skills. But, I do know this: I'd rather not be in the vicinity when this happens.

If anyone sees this guy on the road or anyone doing this stuff:
why not just jot down their plate number, then track down and destroy their car/life?

What difference? You're both idiots.
Let me know when this happens. I won't hold my breath, because it never will. The one that gets you leaves you no time to react.
This guy deserves to have his @ss beat. I want you to consider it your duty to beat his @ss - but you don't need to shoot him (unless you're a girl), or even wave a gun in front of him (this probably would just lead to further escalation with a drunk). Just beat him.
You are an idiot.
You're an idiot, and possibly drunk yourself - or your fingers are to fat for your keyboard.

Why not key the side of his truck (you just know it is a truck) as he gets too close?
I'm a car enthusiast and keying someones car is about the dickiest thing I can think of but sometimes it is justified.

Why is it drivers think that THEY own the road, and that no one else may use it? Especially when they complain that they think "bikers think they own the road".
So if I ride a roller-coaster, I own it? And I can beat the other passengers up for being on MY f'ing roller-coaster?
ANYWAY
I think the best solution here is to never escalate the situation by keying/u-locking/etc. The guy sounds insane, what does an insane person do when someone keys his precious pick-up? I DON'T KNOW, THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULDN'T DO IT!
Normally I'd think of carrying a blank firing compact handgun in a small-of-your-back "paddle holster" (I have no idea how you'd get it on, that's your problem ). When drivers see you they see the back of you, and when they see that "firearm", well, they just might drive on by all peaceful-like. Hot-tempered people tend to falter when confronted by someone who is prepared for them. Plus you can fire warning shots if needed; if it gets beyond that, well you're screwed anyway.
If things get worse in your area, carry a real firearm. Please make sure you take lessons/know how to use it...Hammerless revolver is the way to go imo; get it in nickel-plating, that way it's nice and shiny and therefore very visible. If you can't handle a standard pistol load, that's fine. Just get one in .22 Long-Rifle. It's a small cartridge, but NO ONE LIKES TO GET SHOT...BY ANYTHING. And very few people can see the difference between .22's and .38's while they're trying to drive.
'course, if the the is ACTUALLY insane and/or somewhat crazy, carrying a gun might make him mad. He'd just run your ass over and make up some story about how you threatened him. They'd see through it and he'd go to jail for 2 years and you'll be dead.
To carry or not to carry...That is the question.

Really? Should I?
Oh, wait a minute, you're referring to areas in the United States. What a relief. Seeing as how I don't actually live in your buddha-forsaken country and have no interest or desire in ever visiting it, then I guess I don't need to worry about gun-toting 450-pound mouth-breathing SUV-driving wainkers running me off the road, so I won't bother with a "real firearm."
But more power to you. Enjoy your firearms! Shoot something/someone for me!
