Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Continental Hometrainer tires

What do you guys use to clean them? I have a black strip down the center of the tire after about 3 weeks heavy use. What can I wipe it down with?

When in doubt, there's always diesel.

Or ethyl alcohol.

Get some cheap black tires and be happy. I have a $9 Maxxis Detonator on my trainer that I can't seem to wear out. Having said that, don't use any kind of organic solvent (e.g. diesel, odorless spirits, etc.) on rubber: stick with something water based. Maybe Simple Green washed off with water (be careful about getting this on rims for long - might mar the aluminum finish).

Windex, on the tire and the drum of your trainer. You'll never get the black stripe completely off, but what you want to remove is any dirt / oil that can cause slippage.
