Cervelo - where to buy and other questions
So, I want to buy an R3 and wanted to know if it is always sold at list everywhere ($2800) or is there anyone who discounts it.
Also, I noticed that my LBS sells them with the Easton fork and not the Wolf fork. Any insight into this? Which one is better?

You aren't going to find great discounts on this bike anywhere, because of its high demand. I buy a lot of stuff online but I highly recommend buy this frame from your LBS just for support you might need down the road. There are a few of last year's models floating around that may be discounted. Beware that Cervelo warranties are only to the oriiginal owner and only if sold from an authorized dealer.
Regarding the fork: much has been said about it on the Cervelo forum https://forums.cervelo.com/forums/. It mostly boils down to a supply issue from Cervelo's vendor. Easton forks were substituted and most reports say they are stiffer laterally but IMHO don't fit the style of the frame as well as the Wolf SL. Cervelo is now transitioning to 3T forks with a very similar design to the Wolf. There were also issues with the Wolf SL fork with some people having too high a stack height and cracking the carbon steerer tube. (Most of the arguments surrounding the fork on that site revolve around what the directions were for installation and how they were communicated to both the dealers and the customers.)
Disclaimer: I recently purchased a 2008 R3 frame and Wolf SL fork from my nearest Cervelo dealer (75 miles away) and fitted it out with a build kit from GVH bikes and some items from my LBS's. I couldn't be happier.

My R3 came with the Wolf SL fork and it broke in a crash about 9 months ago. I couldn't find a replacement SL for anything under $400 so I went in another direction. I bought the Easton EC90 SLX and I absolutely hated it in comparison to the SL. The Easton was very soft compared to the Wolf. I recently swapped out the Easton and purchased a Look HSC5 and that is still not as stiff or nice as the Wolf SL.
You may prefer a softer fork than me. I ride at 190 lbs and I like a very very stiff fork. The Wolf SL was by far the stiffest fork of the 3. It is also the most aero fork as well. If I could do it all over again, I would have just purchased another Wolf SL.
