Good, Cheap, Light Multitool?
I know, pick 2 of the 3. Mine dissappeared. Which do you carry and why?
|
Blackburn Toolmanator. Has pretty much everything you need.
It's not the lightest thing in the world though. |
Actually, this one is good, cheap and light.
|
I carry a couple of these. They cost a couple of dollars each. The 2 ends are different sizes.

I like Topeak Hexus 16 but if you don't want a chain breaker you can get a smaller/lighter tool, some thing like this.
|
topeak mini 18 something. It's managed to keep me going for now.

I saw one of these at Performance yesterday and it's impressively small (thin, anyway) and on sale:

Ritchey CPR-14 is what I've carried MTB and road for about 10 years now:

I'm using this one:
http://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=4217 160g(listed, haven't measured it), on sale for 19.99 atm. |

I've tried more than a few and found that crank bros tool to pack a lot of punch into its form factor. For training rides, though, I might go with something a little more formidable:
http://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...ulti+Tool.aspx Pedros Tool with two tire irons that does it all, including tightening crank bolts if you forget to mind the torque specs while hastily throwing on your new crankset. |
check ur LBS
there should be plenty of stuff for under 15 |
I think the Hexus 16 is a good balance between having what you need for an emergency tool for a modern road bike but not carrying what you don't need. Regards, Anthony |
Are those tire levers metal or plastic on the Topeak Hexus 16?
