Tour de Georgia

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

He's the best in the U.S. but not top ten in the world. Haedo was the best in the U.S. and he's maybe top 15-20 internationally....maybe. Both of them need to adjust to longer races (and win a Grand Tour sprint) before they can claim world status.

Ok let's say the Dude is among the best 20 sprinters in the world ... I think is amassing, specially when he did not have a clear idea to start racing again when he defected from Cuba some years ago..

I'm pretty close. I'll tell him.

It was a very fast approach into Sav. There was a chicane in the last 200 meters. He even said he was taken by surprise by the finish line. He was past it before he realized he won.

The whole stage was like a straight line criterium.

Just so you know, compared to most stage races in Europe, it may as well be.

it's not about the bike. duh.

ps - I get it. He's your homeboy. He's also very good at what he does, for the level he's doing it at.

This photo was in Bicycling Magazine wasn't it? Ivan is a great athlete, and seems very humble and down to earth in interviews. I was glad to see him win.
