Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

feck

I spend too much time on this site and not enough time riding these days. I have an overwhelming sense of exhaustion and the barrier to get my a&& out of this chair to go ride seems too high.

Hopefully a fellow member here (*cough* you know who you are *cough*) can get me motivated and riding again. Maybe with a mountain bike as well.........

The whether is chilly and I just don't feel like it.

Step on a scale and compare your weight from before Thanksgiving.

If that doesn't work, walk up 3 flights of stairs and see what kind of shape you're in.

If that doesn't work, HTFU AND RIDE YOU WUSSY!!!

50 feels chilly. It's not unrideable or anything, just not particularly warm.

50 is chilly?! Wow come spend a winter in Buffalo and you will want to ride every day as soon as the temps get to the 40's if not high 30's.

We rode for most of the winter in Utah. This pic was taken at about 30 degrees.

Took a fair amount of anti-freeze to keep us going.

Cheers!

yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it. If it was that cold here consistently I'd buy some rollers. I know you are all hard and whatnot, but the fact that people are proud of riding in cold weather means they think it's an accomplishment.

I don't want to accomplish anything right now, I want the only barrier between me and riding to be my laziness, not also the fact that my toes will go numb after 2 hours.

Well if you want motivation, go to youtube and look up some cycling videos. Those usually make me want to ride.

Rollers. Absolutely. Rode our half-bikes on the Kreitlers when the roads were covered in ice.

All that being said, we really are happy to see Spring creeping in.

Cheers!
