Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

8 days off

well, i took 8 days off of riding and training b/c i was away in spring break. i came back and did some running and biking and my legs are sooooo sore. i feel like i've lost all definition, strength, and endurance that i had before i went away. how long would u guys say it would take me to get back to where i was right before i left for vacation? i'm hoping only a week or so

well, where exactly were you prior to this break?

most experts, which i am not, will tell you it takes 14 days before your fitness level drops off significantly.

take a deep breath and just get back to training. in a matter of days you will be feeling super duper fit again.

later.

Endurance athletes have a saying that for every 1 week off, you lose 3 weeks of performance gains.

If you play your cards right, you should be back in form in about 2 weeks.

How was may-he-co?

It depends on how many yards of beer you had at Senor Frogs.
