Road Bike borrow Upstate SC?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road Bike borrow Upstate SC?

Hey, I'll be visiting family in and around Pickens SC, May 31st-Jun12th, and would like to borrow someone's beloved 54-56cm road bike. I can provide a copy of my military photo ID, and along with some $$ for a rental fee. I take care of my bikes, and will take care of your's. PM me if you can help. Thanks.

Why not just try to find a shop and rent one from there.

Better yet, buy one from performance and return it when you're done

Bro, have you actually looked up where Pickens, SC is?! I don't think I'll be finding a Performance anywhere near my home. I've seen groups of cyclists riding through that area, and thought that if I had to give money for a rental, it should probably be to a BFer...

Go to Greenville, not far from there, and find a rental. Pickens County is HILLY. I grew up in Greenville, and graduated from Clemson (Pickens Cty.)

Beaters are fine by me; "Beloved" meant any bicycle in their inventory. And as for the noob pagliaci, I've lent my bikes out in the past to visitor's, so suck it. Thanks for the comments, I'm waiting on some local shops to write back.

I'd rather lend my wife. I ride my bike a lot more !

I may be visiting my brother in Hawaii for a week or so and was also wondering how I could get some riding in. I'll bring my own pedals & wrench.

Hey Homebrew, quit hijacking my thread. Seriously, though- Besides here, I've lent my bike to people off of C-list as well, I make sure to get a copy of ID and a deposit. Good luck!

Sunshine Cycles in Clemson could possibly help you. I'm from Clemson and those guys are pretty cool...give it a shot.
