Tonino Lamborghini Leggenda = Lol-worthy Tale(?)
Soooo.. Ill just start off with an intro.
ive wanted to get a bike for a while, as my legs are chicken thin and just overall, I have bad cardio health / fitness. Yesterday I was waiting at a bus stop and the bus was taking a while, so I went into the walmart that was there (yes, the portentous name) and just looked around, killing time. I saw a bike that was seafoam green-ish, which is easily my favorite colour, and cosmetically, I dug it. Tall, thin tires, seat was lower than the handles, and very good height for me. I bought it and rode it home. (Later found out it was a girls bike, but hey, it seemed to be alright). Today I took it out for a ride around town and noticed that the gears/pedals kept slipping, as if the chain were slipping off. I googled and searched on here, and found that it could've been the chain was too long, or worn out, or the cogs were worn out. I am a total newb to anything bikes, but even just visually the teeth of the cogs / gears looked warped in places. Definitely sucked. Sooo I got a ride back to walmart, reciept in hand, and asked for a refund. On the receipt it had a list of non-refundable items; bikes were not listed. Allegedly, today they instituted a new policy, no refunds on bikes. I had to argue a fair bit.. 20 minutes later after they talked behind a closed door they decided "fine; you bought it yesterday, the receipt is old, whatever, here's your cash". So I bought a basketball, and took the bus home. Just wanted to share my story of what basically resulted in me borrowing a bike for a day. And to maybe warn against Tonino bikes (I saw a thread on here about one in particular, allegedly by a shill / shiller (?) ). Cosmetically, I really did like it, but I guess that's the point. It was a total ***** to ride comfortably due to the gear problems and overall it DID look like ****, up close. So.. I'm happy to have been spared / given reprieve from the bike, and will do research before buying a bike again. Also, hey, I'm Alex. Canada, 18, out of school factory worker. |
welcome!
sorry about your walmart bike experience. my advice for a good affordable bike is some old used steel bike. many of them can be found at bargain prices and many are quite nice! (though some are just garbage) |
you must really be new to these forums if you don't know what people here think of walmart bikes :)
welcome, in any case! |
yeah that thread def had a shill feel to it. I kinda figured they sucked.

I knew already that walmart.. anything, sucks ass. I can't really justify it or explain why I did buy it, the appearance probably is what sold me. I'm now looking at some of the lower priced Trek models, they look pretty alright.

Alex,
Hello. Welcome. Signed, Alex. |
I bought this bike just this past weekend. Haven't riden a bike for years. Didn't want to get off it...rode it for nearly ten miles. This is a great bike for the money; like all the options...easily adjustable to various riders. For the casual rider whom stays on the paved tails and just wants exercise on a good looking bike -- well it has it's place.

get bikes direct :)

They have Walmart in Canada?
I'm sorry. Signed, America |
They have it in South Korea, too!
