oh no! san diego, CA is just too hot!

For the first time in 2009, it is way too hot for me to ride.
95-degrees outside. Went for a ride and I'm baked!
Might as well just hit up a beach or something, what a ripoff.

Rest of the week should be ok with averages of 70-degrees.

Youngin 04-27-08 03:20 PM

Want to trade?

Nachoman 04-27-08 03:20 PM

Yes. It's just too darn hot. My wife is trying to get me to mow the lawn and ten other chores. But if it's too hot to cycle, it's obviously too hot to work around the house!

ravenmore 04-27-08 03:24 PM

Meh - come August here and 95 degrees will feel like a cold front.

I thought that California was only 3 hours behind in time, they must be 9 months ahead.

The stuff you guys in San Diego have to go through. Perfect temps 350 days a year, Beautiful water. Yep, time to pack it up and move to Des Moines.;)

GP 04-27-08 04:40 PM

Palomar was nice. Little windy but cooler than sea level.

dcvelo 04-27-08 05:47 PM

I have to point out here that hitting the beach may not be quite the alternative you're seeking at the moment....

Dynamic 04-27-08 05:59 PM

2008.. im sorry. but I'll leave it in hopes that the hot weather does in fact move to 09.

why not dcvelo? shark incident? that was a 150 yards out. im gonna be floating about the breakers. :D

s4one 04-27-08 06:03 PM

Hey, the most famous series of shark attacks in my home state took place in what was basically a creek....

Just joking anyway....but jeez, dynamic, we think nothing of riding when it's in the 90's here in Washingotn...because we get a lot of it and of course it comes with 90 per cent humidity...heck, we even have winter here. What am I doing on the east coast anyway?

Mr. Beanz 04-27-08 06:37 PM

Oh C'mon, a group of us SoCal BF'ers did 72 miles yesterday. None of the women complained!:D

Soil_Sampler 04-27-08 07:37 PM

I'll take 95's all summer!

+33° 34' 1.41", -114° 36' 54.43"

Dynamic 04-27-08 07:40 PM

dc, i really just don't know if htfu applies to hot weather. you cant harden up to hotness. im a droop now.
and beanz it says your in upland ca. is this perjury? :D

why are there feet and inches in your temperatures

clichty 04-27-08 07:41 PM

It was snowing today in St. Paul; I feel zero sympathy for you.

Soil_Sampler 04-27-08 07:49 PM

lat/lon=location

The seabreeze made it OK around OC on PCH. I do think I'll avoid the Newport Back Bay tho, that loop is crazy hot some days.

Beaker 04-27-08 10:20 PM

Just go out at 6 or 7am -- seriously, the weather will be better and the roads quieter (at least on the weekends)

Nachoman 04-27-08 10:44 PM

I got the alarm set for 5:45 a.m. tomorrow!

swimmer88 04-28-08 12:34 AM

as if my tan lines weren't bad enough...this weekend did me in. 95+ in south orange county. I now have a little tan circle on the top of each hand from the opening above my glove velcro strap.

Dude, heat has nothing to do with your tan. It could have been 45 degrees and you'd still have that lovely little tan circle. Sunblock is your friend if you are worried about it.
