Bike messengers
Help educate a small town Texas boy. I see that NY has alot of bike messengers, they may be in other places also. But anyway, what exactly do these bike messengers deliver?

Bike messengers typically deliver small packages inside large cities from businesses. It's faster and cheaper to get through a city like nyc on a bike than it would be to have a courier in a car.

-film/prints (it's the Hollywood industry + post-production work)
-Legal documents, ranging from a few small papers to entire 40lb boxes.
-construction documents, prints ('blueprints' have not been in use for at least a decade now)
-small bits of artwork, prints, samples (garment industry included)
-'other' (ask the messengers doing the CenturyCity/BeverlyHills/Westside routes)

That's actually a great story, most of it not pictured: messenger sees the dude (guy stomping on her rd) drop a large bag of fast-food trash out the window out of that brown van (pictured), in the middle of the street. She pulls up and picks up the trash, puts it back into his open window and says "you dropped this." He gets out of the car and proceeds to attack her. In a short, few moments, a few people off the street enter in the fray and start beating up the guy in response.

Why do they have those real slim bars? To get thru traffic... save weight?
