Ordered my new R3000
Cannondale with the '04 Dura Ace 10 components. Without water cages and pedals, this thing weighs 15 1/2 pounds. Should be in around the first of the year.
Now, if the weather would just back off a bit.... :D |
NIIIIICE! :D
The new Dura ace shifts wonderfully and the new crank set up resists the normal flex of the old stuff so you will have more efficient power transfer. The local Shimano factory rep let me ride his Giant OCR with the new stuff just last week. I just got a new CAAD5 frame myself and installed all the old DA from my K2 MOD 5.0 onto it and after adding pedals and cages it came in at 17.6 pounds. I am running the 2001 Ksyrium SSC SL wheelset on it. The new Dura Ace wheelset is designed around their new 10 spd and is lighter than the new Ksyriums, which wheelset are you running? I love this frame since it is the stars and stripes 9/11 comemorative model. It is real beauty of a bike. I hate sweating all over it but boy is it fast. I've been down on Shimano lately due to the monopolizing practices but I have to admit the new road stuff is sweet. I hate the integrated mountain bike shifters however. |

Mine is electric blue with white decals...we have one in our shop and it is very sharp looking. Cannondale is now doing blue, won't be doing black until February. |
Sounds nice! Pics are demanded on arrival ;)
Must be the season, I just bought myself a Casati |
I love my Ksyriums! Three seasons of hard riding and I have yet to have to true them. Simply amazing! Once the impact of the bike purchase is absorbed I may have to get the silver ones.

i can't imagine a 15.5 lb bike. my 21 lb'er (loaded with water bottles, tools, pedals...i want to simulate what i am riding on, not just an imperical weight) - - - and since my terrain is largely flat and rolling, the weight vs. longestivity of the frame debate can rage on.
but for those in the lighter is ALWAYS better camp, kudos for the purchase. |

but for those in the lighter is ALWAYS better camp, kudos for the purchase. The extra lightness comes from the new Dura Ace...add about 300 grams for Look pedals and whatever two water botttles weigh with a couple of carbon water cages... I sell this stuff and talk tech with customers but, honestly, it does not mean diddly if the customer does not like the way the bike feels or handles. |
