Spare CF Frame. What to do?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Spare CF Frame. What to do?

It's a Pedal Force QS2. Perfectly content to just sit on it until I get an inspiration. I might just wait and use it for the winter build next winter. Thought I'd see if you folks have any recommendations; what would you do with this frame if you had 4 other perfectly ridable bikes and you don't want to sell this frame?

Said frame:

it's weight:

The other ridable bikes:

As it stands, I have Shimano DA, Ultegra and SRAM Red. I could just do a 105 build. But perhaps a Force or Rival build.

I have a spare pair of Ksyrium Elites that would go on this frame and tons of Shimano cassettes laying around. Already have an Easton EC70 seatpost and a saddle (Performance Forte something or another), though I am tempted to go with another Selle Anatomica (darker this time) ..

I'd do another Nitto Noodle bar (you see the 2 in the shot).

What to do .. ? Thoughts?

How about sending it out for a custom paint job? Since you have no immediate plans for it it would be a good opperertunity to get something unique done. Just don't send it to the painter who's doing Rad's Tete unless you have a lot of patience.

^^

Zipps = overkill for the kind of riding I do.

Paint job of any kind would be interesting. I'm not sure if I want this to be a budget build or not. It may have to be as the little one shows up in ~ a month. Some would argue = major life change.

edit: so, maybe budget is somewhat irrelevant. But still no Zipps. Also doesn't mean this is a dream build so I'd rather keep the options reasonable. It isn't the bestest or the lightest/sexiest frame out there, but it is nice.

Hmmmmm....sounds like an "I'd like to show off ALL of my bikes & spare components, but just need an excuse" post.

It'd make a perfect Burning Man tall bike, but with 4 wheels arranged such that you must pedal backwards to go forwards:

Sell it and add the funds to what you'll save by not building it up.

Finish the basement.

FB,

In response...

The Leader was a 2005 735R and I use it as my rain bike right now. It is built up with a mix of part from different years. Ultegra shifters and RD, 105 brakes, Tiagra FD, FSA SLK triple cranks. There is some play in the headset that I have been unable to get out and am unsure if it is the FSA IS2 headset or a head tube problem. The Leader frame cost me $125, so high quality it is not...

I am awaiting a Cervelo RS that I will be building into my climbing bike. Ultegra or FSA SLK triple cranks with the chaingrings changed out to 48/38/24, Ultegra right shifter, DA left shifter, Ultegra SL brakes, IRD Alpina FD, XTR RD....

I think I will making the Pedal Force RS (QS2), which is currently my climbing bike) into my rain bike and retiring the Leader due to the headset issue...

You are missing Campy in your collection. I have a Scott CR1 Record bike that I love and use everyday. The only hassle and it is a small hassle is constantly switching the freehubs on my wheels from Campy to Shimano. I must say I do like Campy hoods and the thumb lever better than Shimano. I have never tried SRAM...

It's actually not as bad as it looks. I have an end of June projection. But I'm not holding my breath. Luckily, $500 is not going to make or break the process or I'm in bigger trouble than the pictures seem to portend.

Electrical = done
Framing = done
Sound system wiring = done
Bar = done
Bar sink + plumbing = just need to hire someone to install the drain line (septic + upflush)

Do a 105 build. It sounds like you have just about everything else.

I'd do a Campy build.... No, actually I would sell it and use the funds to upgrade one of my other bikes.

Get an ENO hub and make it into a fixed gear. I did it with my first road frame and it was a great ride

I'm in the same situation except I don't have all those parts laying around.

Scattante CFR 53cm carbon frame thats about 1 cm too long in the top tube for me
Alex 450 rims (nearly new from a trek 1000)
Ultegra 53/39 crank nearly new
Stem
2 hbars
seatpost clamp
headset already installed as part of frame/fork
bontrager seat

I just need a bb, some/s gear(s), brake(s), seatpost and I have my 1st frankenbike

Or should I sell the frame/fork and crank since those are the only things worth something?

1) Eno flip-flop hub, bullhorns with the TT brakes, and white deep Vs / saddle / bar tape.

2) Eno flip-flop hub, completely blacked out with a straight bar or risers.
