Today I rode in jersey and shorts!!

Today is the first day since I was in Australia in February, and the first day here in Canada since last September, that I was able to ride in jersey and shorts!! WooHoo!! It was wonderfully warm today ... 26 degrees. It's about time!!! :D

It is like discovering something new, it is amazing how fun that first spring ride is without 30-45 minutes of finding your gear and getting dressed.

26 degrees? Brrrr. Oh that's right, every other country on the planet is on Metric except US!!! It was a hot, sweaty ride home from work today for myself. 90 degrees (F) so I left the arm warmers, knee warmers, base layer and skull cap at work.

That's about 79F.

It would have been absolutely blissful except for the 50 km/h winds. However I still managed a decent ride.

I am jealous of you. One can always add more clothing but there is a limit when it gets hot. I did the bike to work thing today, starting at 6 AM, 15 minutes before sunrise and 80 F. 3 hours later it passed 90 F and topped out at 101 F a new local record for the day. And this is Northern California.

I did the same today,..although I almost got blown into the ditch a couple times and had to ride through a dust storm created by a farmer disking his field upwind from me *hack*couch*hack*, gonna be hotter Friday and Saturday, I only hope the wind drops down a tad:thumb:

You mean the first ride without arm & leg warmers right? If this was your first tight-free / jacket-free ride then you are one cold woman. ;)

Today's group ride was the first time this year where sweat streamed down my face.

Wow, 50?!!! Oh that's right, km. That's only about 31 mph. Wait, wow, 31 mph?!!! That sucks. It was a little windy here too, but maybe 10 mph.

This was my first tight-free / jacket-free ride here in Canada since September.

I wore my tights and jacket etc. (over my shorts and jersey, of course) this morning and melted on the way to work. This afternoon, I was out there in just the basics!! :D

My commute to work took me 1 hour and 40 minutes ... my commute home took me 2 hours and 7 minutes. That wind really slowed me down!!! There were a few moments where I thought I'd be in the ditch too.

I'm planning to commute again tomorrow, and I'm with you ... I really hope the wind drops!!

Metric and Celsius hold no meaning for Americans Machka. You know what.

You post that stuff just to piss us off, don't you? Hey, I thought it was snowing there last week.

You gotta learn sooner or later.

Plus, in order for me to convert the measurements I'm familiar with (metric) to imperial, I have to use an online conversion tool ... it's a bit of a pain. I'd rather just speak my own language. :)

Hey Machka, Here in 'Peg it was a GREAT day, warm and sunny (21c!!). I still had my tights on but I ride short sleeve if it's above 5c. But it has been a cold windy spring otherwise.

That's a long commute, but wait your super woman on a bike. What can you do 1000km in 50 hours?

It's been a terrible spring here ... the leaves etc. are a good week or two later coming out than last spring.

The commute is 70.9 kms round trip.

And I did the only 1000K I've ever done in 68 hours and 10 minutes. :D :D

I got very, very slight ones from today's ride. Hopefully I can add to them this weekend! :)

I gone over your entire site many times over the last few years. Keep it up!

StephenH 05-15-08 11:17 PM

I've been coming in from riding totally soaked in sweat here in Dallas. It's been shorts weather for three months now.
