Non-Clipless Pedal Options?

I usually hang out in C&V, but figured I would bring this over here.
I recently purchased a leftover Cannondale Caad8 Optimo 1 from the LBS. It's my first "modern" road bike. Ive been riding a 1984 Binanchi Nuovo Racing I restored this past winter, but picked up the Cannondale with aspirations of doing more frequent and longer rides. I will not likely be doing any group rides or races with the bike, but would rather be doing 2-3 hour leisurely solo rides. Not slow enough to tour, but not fast enough to be racing.
In any regard. I am not looking to purchase a dedicated clipless pedal / shoe combo. My background was all platform based mountain biking. I just like the flexibility to hop on the bike in street shoes (primarily skate shoes...lately vans classics). I have older style pedals on both the Bianchi and a beater fixed gear.
What I guess I am saying is that are there any better options than the vintage style pedals with toe clips that have come out recently. Im not talking about using a take-off set from a Schwinn Varsity, but something along the lines of whats below.

Thanks in advance for your input.

japollner,

My knees are shot so I'm afraid to use clipless and use these instead and have no complaints................

+1 on the mini toe clips...easy in and out...never slipped out...

Well, it's either toe clips or clipless pedals, unless you want to use something like Powergrips or half clips.

The Campy or Campy-style pedals in the pic you posted are not really that good for "riding in any shoes". These were intended for racers on racing bikes wearing racing shoes. When I was using Campy pedals, I found that with toe clips, it was hard to get the foot in with ordinary shoes because the pedal itself is pretty narrow (and so is the space between each side of the strap). In my opinion as a former toe clip user, if you want to use toe clips to ride with ordinary street shoes, you really need a wider touring pedals such as the MKS one that is still available. Otherwise the whole thing is too narrow except for road cycling shoes.
