Sunglasses. Inside or Outside helmet strap?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sunglasses. Inside or Outside helmet strap?

Inside? Outside? Does't matter?

*EDIT* Should have made this a poll

Outside is not only OCP correct, it is more comfortable and easier to remove or replace glasses as desired. I know this, of course, through extensive scientific testing over the years.

Outside unless there's a crosswind. If so, go under on the side toward the wind.

Take your helmet off one day while forgetting that you have your sunglasses on....watch your M Frames fly into the air and land lens first on the ground.... then you will care less what anyone else thinks about which way to wear them.

Inside, in case a bee flies into your helmet and you must flick the helmet off quickly without throwing an $OCP pair of sunglasses on the road.

Ok, you would re write the rule if......

yours are on the outside right?
$140 pair of oakleys on
Bee flys in Vent hole (bumble)

Wheres the glasses?

Thats right, eating pavement.

My vote, inside.

Left side inside the strap, right side outside the strap. If it's raining, then the right side inside and the left side outside.

For me, it has depended on the shades and the helmet. I use whichever method feels more comfortable.

I am not asking which is more fashionable or OCP. I want to know what you guys do and if there is a reason for it.

I thought I read something about if you get in a crash if the glasses are inside the straps they could get hung up and do damage to your face instead of coming off.

Is that true? Is it safer on the outside so if you fall they can go flying away from your face?

Outside...

In an unfortunate crash you want those things flying off your face, not caught in the helmet!!!

Edit...

Posted this without seeing your post above...

Quite the pointless controversy. I ALWAYS go inside but I thought I was doing it incorrectly for safety purposes (i.e. in case of a crash I though you don't want the glasses stuck around the facial area).

Rudys: Outside as they are more comfortable like that. also you can pull them off and stick them in your helmet when it gets dark. and the helmet is more secure.. and if you have a rudy helmet it comes with a bug net if you're paranoid

Why would you flick your helmet off? that could critically damage it
