White lithium grease
Can't find my bike lube and I'm tired of the squeaks.
Can I use white lithium grease? |
I use it in my speedplay pedals. It's waterproof. So it should o it.
|
You "could".
|
yes

i use white grease for things that will need to be removed at some point - anything threaded - bolts, lockrings, seatposts, bb, pedals. i usually go with prolink epx grease for bearings and pivots. i'm sure the white grease would be fine for most any application, but a huge tub of each is pretty inexpensive (and you don't want to put bearing grease on things you wouldn't want coming loose mid ride). that said, i definitely wouldn't go coating your chain/casette with white grease, if that's where the squeaks are coming from.

I use white lithium for threads, seatposts, bearings, ect.
and chainsaw bar oil for chain. |
Any ideas where the squeaks could be coming from?
|
could be a lot of things. Chain, derailleur pulleys, pedals, hubs, freehub/wheel, seapost/saddle. I'd clean the chain and relube it and check the pedals first.
