Viewing bike routes in Google Earth

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Viewing bike routes in Google Earth

Hey guys, I've created a biking map site that will allow you to view a route in Google Earth. http://www.mybikemaps.com

To use, try clicking on one of the listed routes (e.g. Etape du Tour 08), then Click on the "Earth" button to view the route overlay in Google Earth. It works in Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2. It'll ask you to install the Google Earth plug-in if you haven't already done so.

It's still a beta site. Try out the mapping features and let me know what you think. Cheers.

Looks pretty good.

Here's a feature suggestion. Try adding an elevation profile like found here: http://www.usatf.org/routes/map/

The map doesn't show if Safari, so no deal for me. This functionality exists on several other sites that do work on the Mac.
