How many of you keep spare rims for emergencies?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have a spare wheelset. It's the set that came stock on my bike. I might use them someday, but probably only in case of an emergency.

None of the options in the poll reflect my response.

I stock a lot of "emergency" parts and supplies, but rims is not one of them

isn't that what the spare wheelset is for?

Most serious cyclists that I know own multiple sets of wheels, most ready to go with cassettes and tires already mounted.

Yeah, a spare 'rim' wouldn't help much. I think you (the op) meant wheel or wheelset.

I have two bikes with a wheelset each, so I swap if something happens. I'm planning on buying another rear wheel for trainer use only.

I can only imagine having a spare rim if the rim is a rare model or you want to buy bulk to keep costs down and you know how to build your own wheel.

I have a spare wheel ... not because my LBS is too slow, but because the freehub on my original wheel died (Formula hubs have a very short lifespan), and my LBS sold me the wheel I've got on my bicycle because I needed a wheel for the 600K brevet I was doing the next day. It was an emergency. They fixed my original wheel (sort of), so I've got it hanging in the garage right now. I'd like to put it back on my bicycle and have the other one as a spare, but they didn't do a good enough job fixing my original wheel.

I have 7 complete wheelsets... so, yes? But not for emergencies. Just accumulated over time and with bikes. If i have a problem with one I can just switch to another, or just switch bikes.

I always order rims in sets of three...

My Tommasini has two RED CXP-33s...and of course I have a spare RED CXP-33.

Have an accident - just a rebuild is all I need.

=8-)

I'd have even more if I had a place to put it all, and if I didn't have to spend my money on tuition.

A spare bike and lots of spare/alternate-condition wheels, most of the latter in a big heap in the basement.

Oh I have rims too. lol.
