Rear wheel busted

About four years ago I got a good deal on a Bontranger Race Lite wheelset (700c clincher). Yesterday I finished up a quick 25 mile ride, and while putting my bike away in the basement I leaned it against my work bench, turned around to mess with something, and it fell over hard on its left side. Didn't see any damage until I gave the rear wheel a quick spin and... WAY out of true. So I hung it up and got on with life. Today I went to true the wheel and on further investigation the hub where the spoke meets is busted. Snapped clear through. So I assume the wheel is toast.

First question: is the wheel toast? Can the hub be replaced and is it worth it for a wheel like a RaceLite?

First question, part B: are there warrantees on wheels like this? I assume that unlike frames any sort of warrantee is rare.

Second question: assuming I have to replace the rear, what's a good value for a fairly inexpensive wheel? I was looking on JensenUSA and like the Mavic Rim Shimano Ultegra hub wheel at $150 or so. Oppinions?

I'd like something fairly bomb proof. I don't race, nor do I care too much about going fast (guess I'm in the wrong forum then, huh?). I do a lot of climbing and something with some lateral stiffness would be nice for when I'm out of the saddle. Oh, and I really like a quiet hub. Not a fan of the CLICK CLICK...
